Assists in implementing, and monitoring company environmental programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability goals.
Contributes to and follows procedures, guidelines and systems to ensure the facility’s compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations, in addition to facility and company policies and standards.
Responsible for facility’s compliance with applicable environmental permits, plans, reports, inspections, monitoring and training for areas including, but not limited to:
air, asbestos, emergency planning & community right-to-know, DOT Hazmat, hazardous waste, ozone depleting substances & refrigerants, pcb’s, solid waste, Spill Prevention Control & Countermeasures, storm water and waste water.
Works on projects to reduce the facility’s environmental impact including:
energy use, GHG emissions, solid waste, and water use and related costs.
Provides guidance to facility management team, department leaders and employees at all levels at the facility.
Works with corporate Environmental Affairs department team and systems provided to help ensure environmental compliance.
Requires a bachelor's degree Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires experience working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
Requires foundational understanding of environmental regulations, standards, and industrial sustainability practices.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Must possess advanced Microsoft Office technical skills and the ability to learn new software or reporting tools.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Involves periodic travel to assist on audit teams at other sites.
